A Scared And Weak Pit Bull Hiding In The Bushes Is Rescued By Two Patient And Dedicated Women

A Scared And Weak Pit Bull Hiding In The Bushes Is Rescued By Two Patient And Dedicated Women

Growing up homeless makes a lot of dogs wary about humans. They don’t know who to trust and what to do around them. This is why when rescuers try to get these strays, more often than not, the strays will run away. You can’t really blame them – they do not know that they are being saved.

Many seasoned rescues, like these two ladies from Hope for Paws, a nonprofit rescue group based in Los Angeles, have learned how to be very patient when they are in this type of situation. And their experience has helped in helping a dog they later named Tarzan.

Too weak to move

The scared pit bull was often seen by people hiding in bushes. They didn’t know that aside from his fear, he couldn’t leave because he was too weak from the lack of food and water. Thankfully, someone called Hope for Paws. Two women were sent to retrieve the dog.

Once the rescue team arrived, they didn’t go up to Tarzan right away. They didn’t want to spook him. Instead, they sat nearby and remained motionless. They threw some food between them, hoping that the dog would crawl towards them and they could gain his trust.

Several minutes have passed, but the dog just seemed anxious and wouldn’t budge. That’s when they realized that Tarzan wanted the food but was too weak to move on his own. So they threw the food right before him.

After consuming the nutrients, the dog developed enough energy to go out of his hiding spot and crawl to a nearby pool of water. He was dehydrated, and this contributed to his weakness.

Bravely the two ladies approached him gently and started to put a leash on his neck. By that time, Taran realized that the humans were there to save him. He allowed the rescuers to carry him and take him to their shelter.

Regained vigor

Tarzan was seen by a doctor and described medication and treatment. Over time, the dog grew stronger and more active. The happy pooch is now on his way to full recovery, and he is starting to trust humans as well.

Hopefully, Tarzan will find his happy and forever home soon.

I have to be honest here, I have not always loved dogs. When I was a child, all I was taught was how dogs can bite people, but not how helpful they can be. After getting my daughter a puppy, Roscoe, I learned how loving and loyal dogs are. My appreciation and love for dogs have grown over the years, and I enjoy sharing feel-good dog stories. I hope you enjoy my blog:)
