Sami is a gorgeous Belgian Malinois that was raised in Vancouver by doting parents. Couple Michael and Shannon Brennan have had the energetic and active dog since he was a puppy. And because they didn’t have any children, they lavished all of their love and attention on their dog.
Even when they are absent for an extended period, they rarely leave him at home alone. Usually, one of them would stay behind so the dog could have company. However, the pair had to leave town for a very important affair.
As is expected of any good parent, they looked for the most efficient means of making dog-sitting arrangements. They selected a popular and highly rated pet sitting service after conducting thorough research. Sadly, they made a poor decision.
Within twenty-four hours of dropping off their darling pet, the sitter informed them that Sami had fled and is missing. Additionally, he flatly refused to accept responsibility and take any action to locate their dog. He ceased speaking with them thereafter.
The couple was in despair. They quickly returned home and enlisted the assistance of their relatives and friends. They also requested social media users’ assistance in locating Sami.
When they arrived, they thoroughly searched the neighborhood. In the following 11 hours, they diligently searched for the lost dog. They feared that something may have happened to him.
When darkness fell, they had to return home and rest. However, someone proposed leaving Sami’s bed outside so that the scent on it could guide him back home.
The couple was open to any possibility. They then took Sami’s bed and placed it in the yard of a kind neighbor.
Shannon then received a call from the owner of the property the following day. Sami was laying on his bed outside the home.
The couple immediately went to the man’s residence and they were reunited at last. They are very relieved to have their pet returned to them in good health.
Our beloved Sami is missing! She’s wearing a black harness & was last seen in the East 47 and Knight St area of #eastvan around 8:30p on Sept 7. Missing since Sept 6th from the home of a negligent pet sitter. If you see her, pls don't give chase! We are devastated #bringsamihome pic.twitter.com/Ok9jwAxyc8
