Nala, a three-legged Pitbull, wandered the streets of Houston, Texas for quite a while. Eventually, she ended up at a church, where Good Samaritans found her. They saw her injured leg and rushed her to the county animal shelter, thinking that was where she’d receive the help she needed.
No one had a clue as to how Nala hurt herself. She probably got hit by a car, but who knew? She required surgery, but unfortunately, the shelter didn’t have the resources to provide her with the medical care she needed.
In no time, Nala made it to the euthanasia list. She had a few days left, and she feared for her life. Thankfully, the nonprofit group called Lance McCullers Foundation intervened and paid for her leg amputation.
About a month after her surgery, Nala moved to Colorado to start a new life. She was so excited to find her new home. Little did she know that her search was over before it even started.
A woman named Beth kept tabs on the dog from the beginning. She put a hold on Nala way ahead of time. When finally, she learned that it was ready for a new home, she rushed to meet the dog.
Beth dreamt of having her own Pitbull for a very long time. Once Nala was in her arms, her dreams came true. She was so happy and excited that she started bawling despite having people around her.
Some people pity Nala because she only has three legs instead of four. What they don’t know is that she lives like a diva in her new home. She sleeps on a soft bed covered with a warm cozy blanket, eats delicious meals, plays with new toys, and snuggles with the person who loves her most.
There is nothing a four-legged dog can do that Nala can’t. She isn’t normal because she is unique. In her own way, she is beautiful, and that’s all her mom sees in her.
