Dog rescues can either be complicated or simple, depending on many factors. Regardless of the complexity, dog rescuers from South Korea are always prepared with strategies and tools to guarantee a successful rescue. Here is a glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes of such operations.
The South Korean television network SBS TV has a team of animal rescuers working with them. They rarely get the spotlight, but they are pivotal to the success of many of the network’s shows. In a recent video, the network showcased how their team operates efficiently.
The rescue team was feeling down after an unfortunate incident during a recent rescue mission. They successfully retrieved two puppies, but they couldn’t save the mother dog. The puppies have witnessed their mother die in the hands of an abusive human.
The team had to focus on regaining the puppies’ trust towards people. It was a slow process that required a lot of time investment. Still, the team continued to answer calls for rescue requests and go on missions.
While the other members are taking care of the puppies, two others were busy trying to rescue another stray. The two men seemed to be older and more experienced members of the team. They were assigned to track down a badly injured female dog roaming around a certain street.
The rescuers followed the injured dog and saw her stay near a nursery. After confirming the dog’s route, they set up a trap. They placed a bowl fool of food inside a large cage trap hoping she would come.
Unfortunately, despite waiting for an entire night, the stray did not go anywhere near the trap. A failure like this is expected from time to time. Strays are not usually caught on the first attempt.
This particular video shows a different side of the rescuers that are often overlooked. It showed the hard times they go through during rescues and the range of emotions they feel. Find out more about them in the video below.
