Pregnancy and childbirth are two of the happiest events in a mom’s life. However, it can also be the saddest if the baby doesn’t survive childbirth caused by complications during pregnancy. Understandably, it can be a very depressing moment for moms.
It’s not only human moms that experience sadness when they lose their child during childbirth, but dogs can also become heartbroken. A dog named Milo was picked up as a stray near the Arizona and Mexico border. She was heavily pregnant and was brought to an animal rescue facility that is run by Sunshine Dog Rescue.
The rescuers weren’t expecting Milo to give birth. However, she gave birth prematurely and none of her puppies survived. The founder and owner of Sunshine Dog Rescue, Anita Osa, decided to take Milo home with her.
Milo was constantly crying out and was frantically looking for her puppies. It was really clear that she was ready to become a mom but without her puppies, she wasn’t able to fulfill that nurturing role. Anita knew that she needed to do something to help Milo.
So, she posted on social media asking if anyone knew of orphaned puppies. Anita thought that bringing puppies for Milo would be beneficial. However, nobody knew anyone or any animal shelters that were taking care of orphaned puppies. Anita did have a lot of messages that there were orphaned kittens available.
Eventually, she thought that kittens would work and decided to give it a try. Anita was able to get three orphaned newborn kittens and introduced them to Milo. Although Anita was nervous that it might not work, she was surprised to see that Milo didn’t display any aggression at all. She wanted to meet the kittens.
One by one, Anita started taking the kittens out of their cage and placed them next to Milo. Milo gave the kittens a little sniff and she just accepted them like they were her actual babies. The kittens even latched on Milo to feed, which was one of the happiest moments in the video.
Milo was such an amazing mom to all her adopted kittens. She would clean them, nurse them, and cuddle with them. Eventually, after the kittens were weaned, Milo was adopted by a guy named David. David lived with his sister and his sister was looking to adopt one of Milo’s kittens.
Coincidentally, David’s sister adopted Milo’s favorite kitten named Gumball. Milo and Gumball were so happy to be reunited. Milo was able to become a mom and the kittens she took care of were able to have a mom. It’s one of the most heartwarming happy endings for Milo and the kittens. Here’s a video featuring Milo and how kittens mended her broken heart.
