The majority of dogs in animal shelters are known to be not too trusting of humans. Most of these dogs are also unhappy and have many medical difficulties. These issues make it difficult for adopters to choose them. There are, thankfully, still many individuals who are willing to give them a second shot in life.
Clementine, a rescued dog, lived in an animal shelter. She was timid, depressed, and had a number of health issues. Nobody seemed interested in adopting her so she was placed on the euthanasia list. Clementine’s mistrust of humans made it more challenging for her to find a home.
Fortunately, a woman named Chelsea Elizabeth Cossairt learned about Clementine. She felt pity for the dog and was eager to give her another opportunity at happiness. Chelsea, recognizing that Clementine still had much love to give, chose to adopt her.
Clementine was ultimately adopted when Chelsea’s adoption application was accepted and she found her happy home. The dog was, however, scared of everything. She never made eye contact with anyone and always hid behind furniture or faced the wall. This continued for months, and Clementine became sadder. It was distressing to watch her so depressed and terrified.
Although Clementine did not trust humans, she had no issue trusting other dogs. Clementine felt comfortable around Moose and Maple, Chelsea’s other pets. Whenever Clementine felt anxious or unhappy, she always sought solace in the company of Moose or Maple.
Clementine learned from Moose and Maple that not all humans are terrible and began to like Chelsea. She is still a little wary around strangers, but she has gone a long way from her previous state.
After receiving months of care and affection from Chelsea, Clementine blossomed into a joyful and energetic dog.
Chelsea was aware that Clementine wanted to regain trust in humans. Clementine was granted a second chance at life, thanks to Chelsea. The dog is now living a happy life with her loving new family, despite the fact that no one actually wanted to adopt her before.
