Watch This Baby Boy Grow Up With A 125-Pound Loveable Dog

Watch This Baby Boy Grow Up With A 125-Pound Loveable Dog

It’s a fulfilling experience to see a dog and a child form a friendship. Numerous parents know that having a dog can make a child kind and compassionate. Additionally, even though a dog’s size is irrelevant, larger dogs tend to show a more gentle side towards children.

The Great Dane named Drax exemplifies what it’s like to be a gentle giant. His owner got him when he was about 8 weeks old. At the time, the owner found out she was pregnant. As her belly grew, Drax was always right there beside her and resting his snout on the owner’s belly.

When the baby was born, Drax had to observe from a safe distance. The baby was always inside a crib or pen while the dog was watching. This was a safety measure to actually ensure that Drax is used to the baby’s presence before he’s allowed to come closer.

As the baby boy got bigger, the dog was allowed to be closer to him. Drax loved being beside the baby all the time. Whenever the baby is strapped to a jumper, Drax would be lying by his feet. He would stick to the baby like a magnet most of the time.

Drax grew really big when the baby became a year old. At the same time, the baby learned how to walk earlier than expected. The parents believed this happened because their son wanted to keep up with Drax. The baby was the one following Drax instead of the other way around.

One day the parents bought a ball pit for their son. Both Drax and the baby enjoyed playing in it. Some of the balls got destroyed in the process, but the parents didn’t mind as long as they were having fun.

There was also a time when both the baby and Drax met Santa Claus. The neighbors had dressed up as Mr. and Mrs. Claus, and they went to see Drax and the baby. The dog seemed more excited, but it was a delightful experience for them regardless.

The activities stated above are just a few good memories that Drax and the baby enjoyed together. Those experiences, in addition to the parent’s great care, contributed to the strength of their friendship. Drax’s situation is proof that big dogs and small kids can get along very well.

I have to be honest here, I have not always loved dogs. When I was a child, all I was taught was how dogs can bite people, but not how helpful they can be. After getting my daughter a puppy, Roscoe, I learned how loving and loyal dogs are. My appreciation and love for dogs have grown over the years, and I enjoy sharing feel-good dog stories. I hope you enjoy my blog:)
