As the COVID-19 pandemic continues plaguing the world, a lot of people have been forced to stay indoors. Public transportation has been suspended, which has made getting food and essential goods quite challenging. Thankfully, food delivery riders have come to everyone’s rescue.
In the Philippines where food delivery services are big, you will often see people clad in a helmet and long sleeves, riding their two-wheel drives to get around the city. But it appears that not all delivery heroes actually have two legs. There’s one Belgian Malinois who is ready to bring smiles to your doorstep!
Meet Ysa, the cute delivery dog
Ysa, a two-year-old dog, charmed the Internet by dressing up as a delivery rider. She was wearing an orange top (a recognizable color of a local delivery service brand) and denim pants. To complete her look, she carried a delivery box on her back. There was also a helmet by her side.
The adorable Belgian Malinois had been dressed up by her fur parents Mark and Ria Gutierez. Apparently, the two loved dressing up their dog. However, for this theme, they made the costume and props by themselves, as finding a size for Ysa was difficult.
Ria revealed that Ysa used to be a dog show contender. Before Ysa’s internet fame, she joined a competition where she won third place.
Ysa has gone viral!
Ysa’s delivery photos had been picked up by a local news channel. The said outfit then shared the pictures on Facebook where they received 23K reactions, 4.1K shares, and more than one thousand comments.
One Facebook user said that he would choose to have his goods delivered by Ysa since she looked like a fast courier. Some commenters seemingly believed that the photos were somehow a tribute to delivery riders, whose importance was further highlighted during the pandemic. Whether the owners made it intentional or not, it surely was a nice gesture to honor the riders.
