There are certain and special moments in life when a simple act of kindness toward others, dogs, in particular, creates a huge impact. Since dogs don’t have control over their lives, unless someone will act and take part in making their lives pain-free and livable, they can’t do anything at all except to wait.
In Hemel Hempstead, UK, a trembling Shih Tzu, by chance, was found by a good-hearted person. The poor pup was left abandoned behind a bed of bricks at a construction building. She was allegedly dripping wet, and widespread infections along with mats were evident, causing her to be immobile due to intense pain. Notwithstanding, she was saved and taken to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA)’s Southridge Animal Centre where she was named Olive.
The Wood Street Veterinary Hospital took Olive in for emergency medical care. After clipping away her mats, more ailments were uncovered. They included but were not limited to swollen head and neck areas, swollen eyes, and ear infections. Extensive treatments like antibiotics, eye drops, and medicated baths were administered to the pooch every after two hours.
Thankfully, Olive recuperated from the infections and even got her sight back. By the time she was ready to start afresh, vet nurse Emily Brown stepped in to foster her.
In a jiffy, Olive settled comfortably at the Brown household together with Benji, a 15-year-old Shih Tzu, 5 cats, and 2 ferrets. She specially built a special bond with Benji, and right there and then, Emily made up her mind to have Olive stay with them forever. For starters, Olive has renamed Betty, and she couldn’t be happier.
Thanks to the people who helped Betty specifically Emily, the pooch finally has a home she can call her own. With Emily, Benji, and the rest of the family by her side, Betty is excited to try new things and is currently living life to the fullest as if it’s her last.
